Morning Services in July and August

 

We are delighted to give a very warm welcome to the following people who will lead our worship on Sunday mornings in July and August:

 

July 2nd:  Peter Fox, MA., who is well known to us as a member of our own congregation and a URC lay preacher.   Peter was formerly Head of Languages at Suffolk College.  

July 9th: Revd Dr Marian Carter of Chelmondiston.  Marian was originally a Baptist minister but is now a Priest within the Two Rivers Benefice.  For six years she was Chaplain of the St Elizabeh Hospice.  She is a Trustee of Suffolk Refugee Support.


July 16th:  Revd Mike Griffin, CEO at Tools with a Mission (TWAM), Ipswich.   Mike is well known to many of us from his visits to Christ Church during the time he worked for the Leprosy Mission prior to moving to TWAM.   

 

July 23rd:  Revd Raymond Stanyon, Development and Support Officer for the Wessex Synod of the URC.  Ray is known to many of us as he grew up in Ipswich. At Christ Church he attended Boys’ Brigade, Junior Church and Youth Fellowships and became a member. 

 

July 30th:  Peter Dawson MBE, who is a lay preacher and Elder at St.John’s URC.  Peter is a retired teacher who also served for many years as a Boys’ Brigade Captain and then President of the Ipswich Battalion.  He was honoured with an MBE in 2006.

 

August 6th:  The Very Reverend Keith Jones, Dean Emeritus of York.   Keith has returned to live in Ipswich where he was Vicar of St.Mary le Tower many years ago.    

 

August 13th:  Peter Fox, MA., a member of our own congregation and a URC lay preacher.   

 

August 20th:  Revd Dr Simon Perry.   Previously Minister at Bloomsbury Baptist Church London, Simon is now Chaplain at Robinson College, Cambridge.  

 

August 27th:  Martin Camroux, who is a retired URC Minister.  Martin was Convenor of Church and Society for the URC and is chairperson of Free to Believe, the URC liberal network. 

 

On the first Sunday in September, we will welcome Mrs Sue Liddell who is an elder at Saxmundham URC and a URC lay preacher.
